A Simple Complex has come a long way, and it appears to be well worth out wait! With the latest from the band, "Left Behind", we get a real treat. Hailing from Manchester, New Hampshire, A Simple Complex sets a tone with this release and couldn't do it any better. They have become one of the very best New England area artists around, hitting over 31 FM radio stations over The United States, and many New England Music Award nominations. An incredible feat! With twelve tracks on "Left Behind", it is laced up quite nicely. "Mister Good Time" is a very melodical song, with an edge and crazy but good lyrics laid out inside. The music continues it's great flow with "Void" and "Head" being top notches as well on "Left Behind". I would have to say that Jess Vaughn portrays excellent vocals and stage presence. With Stu Ferguson on some backing vocals and guitars, we are treated with more of a nice ride with the band. Mark Ingoldsby, the man who treated me with the pleasures of encountering this band and their music, is so solid on the guitars, it can be unbelievable what you hear! Jim Thomson, the bass player, is intense! To round out the artist's lineup, we have Chris Ruiz, who pounds those drums incredibly and also unleashes those backing vocals. "Left Behind" was mixed, recorded, and mastered at Guilty Dog Studios by the great one, Joe Merrick. Released on Nosmo King Records, this is a very good album, and makes me pretty proud to have came into hearing this one, hands down!! Loving the rock and alternative trend in this!! My favorite song on the album features Steve Archambault guesting on the track, and it was suited with the name of "Letting Go", though it is tough to even think of letting go of this song and album! I also really enjoyed track twelve, the last one on the album titled, "For Better or Hearse". Love that word play and song title as well! The hard copy (CD) has amazing and gothic-like, dark photos inside, and it's pretty solid stuff! I suggest you hit up any of the links below to get your ears into this beauty of a release, and you won't be left in the dark anymore on this artist!
